Fritz, our CEO, has a unique and broad perspective on the hospitality industry. Fritz began his early career in advertising, and spent the last 30 years of his career in the hospitality industry. His experience includes incentive planning for a major U.S. corporation and several years developing and selling programs for two highly respected incentive companies. In 1986, Fritz founded Hello Florida!, Inc., a destination management company based in Orlando. Within six years, Hello Florida became the market leader in corporate meeting planning and incentives in Florida. By 1998, the business had grown to over 100 full-time and 700 part-time employees. With branch offices in Fort Lauderdale and Naples, Hello Florida handled over 1,100 conventions and meetings annually. Under Fritz’s leadership, Hello Florida became a recognized “quality leader worldwide.” In 1998 Fritz sold Hello Florida to the Mears Transportation Group. Under new ownership, Fritz continued on as the President of Hello Florida until the end of 2002 and as a board member until December, 2003. Fritz continued in the hospitality industry as a consultant until opening OpenDoor in 2005.
Stephanie has an extensive and diverse background in the recruiting industry. After joining OpenDoor Resources in 2010 she applied this knowledge and expertise to the hospitality field. Stephanie started her recruiting career with Corporate Search Consultants in 1997. Here she recruited and placed top-level technology, sales, and healthcare professionals with nationwide organizations. Stephanie successfully recruited for fortune 500 clients including Coca Cola Enterprises, Lenscrafters Corporate Offices, Kroger, and Genuine Parts.
In 2002 Stephanie was promoted to Client Relationship Manager. She focused on large healthcare organizations with hiring needs in Radiation Oncology, Imaging, Nursing Home and Long Term Care. Stephanie often served as a liaison between the recruiting staff and senior level healthcare professionals. She left Corporate Search Consultants in 2003 to raise her family.
In 2005 Stephanie re-entered the recruiting industry. She successfully worked on projects with Publicis Selling Solutions, Inventiv Healthcare and Cisco Systems.
Sheryl has a well-rounded knowledge of the Hospitality Industry, having worked on many sides of the business. During college, she interned at the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and moved right into her career doing marketing and event planning in Colorado (YMCA of the Rockies) and Michigan (Medallion Equities, American Express Travel). Moving to the Detroit area in 1999, she began working for Maritz Travel Co., as an Account Supervisor on the Ford Motor Company account, overseeing the planning of their many incentive trips and meetings, both domestic and international.
After moving to Orlando, Sheryl continued working as a Meeting Planner for International Computer Negotiations, and the association (CAUCUS) they managed. She planned the annual conference, quarterly seminars, and acted as a hotel buyer for their 50+ chapters that each held a quarterly chapter meeting.
Moving to the non-profit side, she joined her large church staff as the Director of GlobalWorks, where she managed all of their volunteer overseas trips, as well as acted as the Logistics Coordinator for the programs until 2008. For the past eight years she has worked seasonally for Walt Disney World, in their Conventions and Events office at Epcot, where she helps operate many of their short-term private events around the park.
For the last several years, she has worked for a number of event planning clients on a contract basis, and is now excited to bring her experience to OpenDoor Resources.
